An Evening Night

An Evening Night

A Poem by Olive Belikov

How do I run so far away
to never again see decay?
Once and twice your words do touch.
Once and thrice your words I clutch.
From open air, blue knit sky,
to wandering birds singing why.
The purple evening petals bloom;
my heart, still red, revels doom.
An empty page looks to bare
the words I write, so often rare.
But rare they come
to scarcely chase, to bravely run,
for pen and page do truly rue
all the words I wrote to you.

Wow. This is absolutely beautiful. The rhyming is amazing.

I loved this poem, though I am jealous of your ability and talent to rhyme like that! :( I find it hard to rhyme every two lines or so ... gets complicated and looks forced when I try.

... And now that I'm thinking about it, this looks like the perfect poem to be tattoo'd on someone in fancy lettering xD!
