Tear-Stained Eyes

This is a sad love poem I wrote years ago. Enjoy :)

On the tear-stained pillow I cried,

I cried only for him.

His face was clear in my mind, 

But the world around me was dim.

With tear-stained eyes I dream,

I can think of how I love you; 

But all I want is for someone, someday,

To say that they love me too.

These tear-stained eyes look into his,

And they only see perfection.

But when they examine myself,

All they see is need for correction.

These tear-stained eyes looked at him,

And inside I know the truth;

I guess I'll have to face the fact

That he'll never love me too.

Author's Note

Just so you know, I wrote this a looong time ago. I don't really write poetry anymore, but I thought for being fourteen to fifteen at the time, this was pretty decent.
