June

A Poem by klawrites

What's there to lose
When it's just me and you
Can't we handle the hearts
On the line?

There's a hole in me now
Where our love used to live
This body doesn't feel
Like it's mine

I'm spending my days
In the most beautiful ways
Just trying to keep my thoughts
From the dark

I'm not going down
I'm not lost this time
I'm moving on from
When you were mine

The first two stanzas are fantastic - brilliant!! The last two are a bit off on the musicality. I like how Stanza 3 doesn't end with an "-ine" rhyme - good break there - but the musicality slips in a couple of places in the second half. This is well done overall, however. Simply wonderful.

Very splendid structure,
Very nice meaning,
Nicely written ,
Words are bitten
