Someday Soon In The Future

Someday Soon In The Future

A Poem by Katie Louise Hughes
"

You suddenly complete me

"

Someday, we’ll be as close as two strangers sitting under a light post

Both sharing the glow of the night

While not caring who is wrong and who is right

Simply sitting on the park bench together, we’ll remember most

Going nowhere, I’ll purely see, that love’s hands have given you to me.

Soon, we’ll be as happy as two artists arranging a place to fall

For if our love should ever be in the dust

We’ll pick it back up where we left off if we must

For we’ll surely find a place to hang our love’s portrait on the wall

Going somewhere, we’ll wholly be, knowing that love’s eyes have seen us free.

In the future, we’ll be as thoughtful as two thunderous voices in the rain

Telling our secrets to each other with such ease

As we dance, play and carelessly stumble, landing upon our knees

For nothing can get us down, gazing at the drizzle on the distant plane

Going everywhere, you’ll wistfully heed, that love’s heart has given us its seed.

I hope and wish for this to be true. For someday soon in the future, hopefully I'll finally find true love. Also the picture is by the famous photographer- Robert Doisneau.

Very beautifully written... amazing flow and lovely imagery.

"Going somewhere, we'll wholly be, knowing that love's eyes have seen us free"

I feel like we all have a destiny in love... sometimes, it takes us a while to find it and we take some wrong turns along the way, but "love's eyes" know where that destiny lies.

Gorgeous write :)

Very beautiful, very nice. I think you had a nice balance in your poem. i enjoyed your single line stanza throughout it that changed with the lines before it, it was as if I was going on this trip with you. It was very nice. I hope you find someone to fit this!

Lovely flow and idea to this! I hope your wish comes true! :)
The format works well too, with the quatrains and the one liners, and I always love rhymes that work and your do! :)

Wonderful and lovely poem, I like it so much. It's all about sweet love, that's cute. I read your note, I hope it becomes true already. Very well done.

I love the premise here, that your trying to talk to someone through the poem, as opposed to just communicating an idea. A very well written piece.
