Carefree

Carefree

A Poem by Kelly M.

Dancing and singing
In the rain
My mama told me
I was insane

Well, I got a bad cold
But it was worth it
I felt carefree
It was perfect

I was free of heartache
Free of pain
It was the only thing
That kept me sane

The thunder cracked
The lightning streaked the sky
As the rain poured down
Giving a hopeful cry

I got a bad cold
But it was worth it
I felt carefree
It was perfect

Okay, I don't think this is my best. It was something that popped into my head when I was outside swinging. So, tell me your thoughts! :)

You are a poet are true one. Your word and how they roll of the human tongue. Well done.Thoughts are random but they came out together and I believe it one of your good ones so great job.

I like this. It's sweet and innocent-two things I love to see in poetry.

This was excellent. The joys of feeling carefree and having the lack of any responsibility. I love these moments and you captured it well! Great job
