Be Mine

Be Mine

A Poem by Krista Gallant

You dug, deep into my soul

Similar to a parasite, you remain

Gnawing, proud of your role

Whirling throughout my thoughtful brain

Need strength to release your harmful hold

For which I can’t and have lost all hope

Living without you by my side seems bold

When you don’t want to sever love’s rope

But love shouldn’t be lonely

Forever cold and one-sided

Fear chasing, closing in, painfully

Leaving one’s sentiments weighted

Appease my heart, throw love my way

Slashing doubt, liberating my difficult life

Resolve all concerns and please stay

Validate my existence, end this strife

Say something, anything at all

Corroborate what I’m feeling

Or to the wind in your sails will call

To take you away and commence the healing.
