A Poem by Kelly
"

I nearly drowned the other day. I wondered, what if I didn't make it.

"

Heavy, heavy

The sea is strong

Her muscles die, and air is gone

Crushed lungs, buzzing head

Sinking, floating

Almost dead

Can’t move, can’t move

No one there

There’s no air

Dying, dying

Almost dead

Withering in the sea

Sinking, floating

Halfway dead

There’s no air

There’s no pain

She is free

The sea is gone

Sinking, floating

Dead dead dead
