"Emotional Equations"

"Emotional Equations"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"Emotional Equations"

I gave this problem

Ample thought & reflection

The conclusion of what we are

While I was giving you

110% you were giving

Considerably less

(think ZERO)

While I was thinking

Of 1+1=the two of us

You were formulating

A different set of numbers

Your accounting never factored

My thoughts

My needs

My wants

My heart

OUR LOVE

Now we have become

The less than zero (equivalent)

I came to a realization

By a simple logical equation

The two of us

Are the coefficient

Of a bad emotional

INVESTMENT

One where we

Became simply bereft

And morally BANKRUPT

In our inept relationship

Where’s my BAIL OUT?

You jumped shipped

Cut your financial ties

And found another portfolio

TO INVEST WITH

Fortune favors the foolish

And once again I find

That only the conceit of currency

Can prepare for the recession

(Of tomorrow)

Hope for a response soon. Seems you're only half back.. or not..

Maybe it's because i'm a woman, my immediate thought was: if a man thought less about percentages and profits he might have realised a woman doesn't merely live on audit alone!

However. having had my say, i think your post is clever, witty (possibly tongue in cheek!) and very finely written.

I will now return to my abacus.
