fame's fiction

fame's fiction

A Poem by John Smith

another costume drapes idle limbs
a soul astray, lacking virtue and sincerity
an unkempt mind, valuing wit over wisdom
intimacy always revealing the emptiness inside
adored from a distance, yet always alone
until the performance is over
and the truth is revealed
