You're Still Here

You're Still Here

A Poem by Kristin Lee
"

People come and go. But there is one thing that's always there...

"

You’re there,

Hovering around the edges

Of my convoluted mind

God knows I’ve done everything

To push you away

And still,

You persist.

I want to forget

But you force me to remember

It’s such an inconvenient habit

This tap dance of surrender.

I’ll admit,

There have been times in this life

When you were my only friend

Those days were plagued by darkness

Sin was open so I went right in.

But you never left my side

You were a silent and patient guide;

Unyielding was your faith in me

Always understanding

However painful it may be

Hope burns eternally.

Without hope we have nothing dear Kristin. I know that may sound selfish, but it is what I believe. Your peom speaks of this hope as a friend and as an enemy, and both may aptly apply. Very nice my friend.
