Our extinction

Our extinction

A Poem by kjsa

The people say that they are best

Don't they realize

We'll all be laid to rest.

They say that they will live on

But when the lights turn on

They see they are all but gone.

Extinction and the degradation of the human kind

No one to blame

We caused it with our minds.

We marched to our so called enemies

When we left we had our pride

but we both had our fatalities.

When we got home we cheered

all we heard was echoes

Then I peered.

Burning amber was what I saw

Debris filled the realm

Then I heard a single caw.
