FROZEN TUMBLEWEEDS

Apparently one is more likely to die from cold in the desert (at night) than heat (in the day). 07 26 11

With sly amusement the desert night
smirks at the platter of tease and torture
served up by its solar sister
before time's amethyst allotment
nudges into its illumined office
and blotches agendas and evident outcomes
with mirage stamp of ironic bluntness
