ON THE WRONG DAY

Bless me with your noble intentions
if you must
but remember

a blessing bestowed
on the wrong miscreant
on the wrong day
(minus an assessment
advising applications
of pressure-treated hope)
does little more
than manifest
encouragement of alchemy
when a golden plaque
of motivational quotes
is demoted to my feet
in a humbling of shards

A punishment for a missed target
in a mood swing's
shooting gallery

From the tongue of this
claustrophobic derby horse
comes a suggestion
that will terminate
the hassle of a social exorcism

Bless me
with one of those elephant
knickknacks
said to signify good luck
with their trunk elevated
and their eyes rolling over
their domestic cage

If it works
at least I'll be compelled
no longer to devote a fraction
of my cherub of a
disability allotment
on new dishes

Plastic dishes are a must when the stress level continues to rise, that's for sure. A great rant. Throw those motivational quotes out the proverbial window.....what you need is right here...or write here as the case may be. Writing a poem can do wonders when the domestic cage is rattled. Man, I have a few of these bullet holes in me...they never seem to heal. You should hear the wind rushing through them at times, it is deafening. These things do seem to build up inside of us until we have only two choices left...explode or wrte about them. I am so happy you decided to write about them, we definitely don't need to see little Steve pieces all over the cafe.

My friend, whatever it is, whatever the subject, you attack it and bring it out of the forest for all of us to see and enjoy. This was way too cool.

Hahaha Oh you know me Mrs.R, one never knows when I'm liable to release one of these little nuggets of neurosis on the world. Times have been tough, a little easier these days, but my emotions have been all over the place. Actually I can't even remember what it was that triggered this piece now, but when I can't remember something like that, then I know it sufficiently pissed me off ;P Oh well, I know I saved some dishes by scrawling this thing out haha Glad you liked it my dear :)
