Burden Bearer

Burden Bearer

A Poem by Nautili
"

There are children in dysfunctional families that act as the conduit for all the painful memories. They seem to feel everyone's pain as though it were their own. This is for them.

"
She was Called:
neurotic,
               occasionally psychotic,
                                    complex and chaotic.
And in truth:
An emotional casualty,
A reservoir of discarded reality.
              She bore their burdens,
                           carried their cares,
                                  and ferried their fears,
over seas of repression,
                                she took possession.
She sensed their dark fears,
                 cried their cleansing tears,
                                         prayed their passionate prayers.
The only one to claim
 her
          fragmented
  family’s
               pain.

omg and isnt that just the absolute worse.. when a sickness affects the innocent, especially young children.. that burden they bear of guilt and shame is just so saddening..

sometimes it hurts their chances of functioning normally too.. sometimes it doesnt..

powerful piece here my friend.. enjoyed it immensely..

Smooth poem, rolls right off the tongue... the subject matter is sad but a reality of this world... it is a tragedy when a child doesn't even have a shot at a normal life because of the family it is born into.
