Heaven's Nocturne

Heaven's Nocturne

A Poem by Robert E Cano II

Romantic essence freed as doves on the wind
Harmonious floral dances release the tango
From form and a slow waltz upon the clouds
Reveals a mirrored stairwell in the moon's smile
Whose frail sculpture could fracture in a breath

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

The stars whisper of secrets the sun only knew
And she turns away, a blush across her face
New dawns are birthed upon her footstool,
Heavens singing of longing joys sensually, softly,
Fairytales kissing awake the ethereal senses

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Moment's desires erupt in volcanic embers
Melodies fine tuned to this evening’s requiem
As the darkest midnight’s dawn awakens,
Seasons of the eventide’s journey eternal
The orchestra’s glittered wings in rhythm’s time

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

The Aurora Borealis-a prismatic overture,
Bequeathing unto all a crescendo entrancing
Impressionistic sonatas painting a landscape
Foresight glimpsing a diamond’s refraction
As seen through the eyes of Heaven’s nocturne

Author's Note

Robert E Cano II
Freeverse. This one was not written in some vain attempt to sound smarter than I am, or in an attempt to be speaking above anyone's head. This poem, for all its flaws and wonders, was written expressly for me. I wrote this one day as I reminisced about the doors of my past that were closed when I felt they should have been open, and those doors that were opened that I didn't dare enter for fear had crippled me.

Nocturne: 1.a piece appropriate to the night or evening.
2.an instrumental composition of a dreamy or pensive character.

Requiem: 2.any musical service, hymn, or dirge for the repose of the dead.

Robert this is absolutely beautiful and once again I am awed by the smoothness in which you portray a thought, an idea or an emotion. You do it flawlessly, every piece I've read of yours has brought forth so many feelings from wonder to love that I am humbled in your presence. I love this piece immensely, I think this is one I'll add to my list of favorites.

Thank you so very much for sharing once again your heart and soul with us.

Suzie (hugs)

The sun blushed as she turned away. I love that. Not only is the poem beautifully written with a concise thought woven underneath, but the stanza presentation of freeverse is very pleasing to the eye and aids in reading. I adore your poetry, Robert. *hug*
