Cariño

Cariño

A Poem by Rachel Mason
"

I finally wrote a poem about my partner.

"

Your smile is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen;
I am happiest when I’m the reason for it.

Whoever said that you can’t fall in love with someone you’ve never met,
lied
because when I did meet you,
darling, I was already a goner.

When you whispered that you liked me,
I wanted to say so much more,
but I was speechless
so I lost myself in your embrace instead.

There are fragments of two languages in my mind,
yet I could never string together a sentence to describe how you make me feel.
Nos deseo estar junto.

I am “in love and in pain”
and there’s nothing I want to do to change that
(except bring you closer to me)

Very nice! Your partner is a lucky person! To think that in this world of dividing forces, people can get together. It's great! Keep on writing and thanks for the read.
