Unreasonable Nostalgia

Unreasonable Nostalgia

A Poem by Tai Ryens
"

How is it then I remain nostalgic for the future?

"

     From whence did memories emerge

the chasms of faith; flooded with the misery

                  of quivering eyes,

          and the foreseeable scars reanimating

beneath the saliva of a gliding tongue.

Yet I continued to long for the days

seated across from you, Caribbean rum

bubbling within our mouths as I plant

a dusty kiss on your untouched lips,

knowing you wet for me in secrecy,

                                    for me, and nobody else.

How is it then I remain nostalgic for the future?

Peppers of love charred my stomach, and

empty, clutching hands scented by vomit

          grasped desperately for you

upon the thought of him undressing you,

                             or,

                              you

                    undressing

                                 him.

       Literally speaking,

          death whispered in my ears

                           during evening insanity,

                                  and so did you

as my eyes blushed with sorrow,

and I couldn't help but crave your voice.

Thank you, this was one of my particularly good poems.
I find this beautiful in a dark way. Full of misery, sadness and yes, nostalgia.
Well done! It's almost like a broken man has dreamt of the passed and woken up in a terrible situation missing it.

I meant *past*
And awe, I'm sorry.. :C
Calling this garbage is hardly fitting, Tai, for it is rather wonderful indeed. Your pieces tend not to linger on specific moments but rather tell a story, which not many people I know are capable of doing. The utter drunkenness of this moment is what I, perhaps, love about it most. While you may deem this unworthy of further mention, I find this exceedingly well versed. Kudos to you.

Thank you, Riley, I am flattered.
A drunken moment of a scene from the film, ' Pirates of the Caribbean' perhaps! Your descriptions are very vivid.

Very powerfully engaging indeed!
Nostalgic beautiful urn of phrase, heartbreak and loss.

Thank you, I suspect said concepts are my specialty.
Well I'm really digging your garbage, this reminded me a little getaway in the Dominican Republic but I'll never tell....

Caribbean rum
bubbling within our mouths as I plant
a dusty kiss on your untouched lips,

Exactly why I don't drink Rum anymore ;-)
