I was there

I was there

A Poem by Lana

I never thought I'd see the light of day
But here I am, it's just another day
The wound in my mind is fading away
I thought all I'd see was Doomsday
I never thought there was another side
I was fooled by the devil and cried
If I had to do it all over again I'd be mortified
If anyone had to do it once, they'd commit homicide
They'd fight for a solution to quiet down the devil
Ask God to do it for them, even if they know it won't be successful
It's comforting to talk to a heaven
It's a lonely dark road into depression
Help; so hard to ask for, yet so easy to do
We'd rather ask help to the invisible heaven than deal with the truth
Which is; help is in you
You are the only person you can talk to
Me; I was in the other side the whole time
I failed to look at the climb
Eventually; I saw the reflection of my other self
It was ripped away against my will
It told me; I was there
I was there when the devil swallowed you
Sometimes it caused me to tremble
Then one day you disappeared out of thin air
I tried to reach out to you
But it used water torture on you
And your instinctive fear of drowning kicked in
You felt like you couldn't win
I was there when your hands were tied
And it stabbed your inside
I was there when you were afraid to die
But nothing made more sense than saying your goodbyes
I was happy when you reached out to me
You wrote me poetry
I tried to find the keys to get you out of here
But you didn't get the idea
I was down on my knees
There was never a time that I thought you could never make it
It's been a long time coming
And your strength is hugging me
There's never a day that I don't fight for clarity
I am your therapy
I was there for your maturity
I hope you know what I mean
I finally found the keys
Please come home to me
It's warmer here
There is wisdom and strength here
No more insecurity, no more fear
Just you and me, like it should always be
I can see you back on your feet
I opened the door wide open for you
You'll be received like an athlete
I promise you'll be respected, just as a soldier coming back from war
