The Bed On The Surface Of The Ocean

The Bed On The Surface Of The Ocean

A Poem by Sarah

I lie on my bed on the surface of the ocean
With mixed emotions cooking up in my oven
Sometimes I lie outside of the bed
Swimming away the pain
And I observe the bed on the surface of the ocean
With trust and love for the others
Somehow I believed that bed was the same as mine
I wrapped it up like a leftover meal cooked in a shrine
Naivety about the authencitiy of its surface put me off guard
I now hate to think everyone's bed is dirty underneath
So I swim underwater for closure
And I hate to see that I was not a pessimist
It was real
People lie on their bed on the surface of the ocean
