Forever

Forever

A Poem by Sarah

My loneliness knows no bound
It doesn't run to a certain place
It only expands
As time stands still
And the world continues to swing
I can hear jazz music but I can't sing

My loneliness knows no limit
It only buys things on credit
Things people get for free
Like Love
I was duped and thought it costs a million dollars to make a Friend
A billion for a Lover
I was duped and I thought people had prices
That everything is a sacrifice
That in order for others to stay
You shall ask for a loan
And only then they will think of you as worth consuming
But although the bills fly out of my ears
I am always alone
Enveloped by a warm hug of indifference

And when someone sees me
They see the outer beauty
They ask for a drink
And I ask so what are you consuming?
They tell me, honey
Bees are simple beings
They make honey to survive
I get told by a certain age it will all be over
No honey, only stinging
I have to run out of perpetual loneliness

But I think my loneliness is apart of me
It knows no intolerance
It will find itself accepting all kinds of loneliness
Of nostalgia of the past that I've never lived
Of a hole that cannot be filled
It has no limit to where it can go
Loneliness is all I know
