Do Me A Favor

Do Me A Favor

A Poem by Lana

When I give myself compassion
I allow the energy around me
To envelop me with its sweatest melody
Like a fluffy cotton candy that leaves behind me
A trail of sweetness
And kindness
And empathy
When I give myself compassion
I tell the world
I am free to be me
I owe to myself
To be the friend I've never had
To be the inner voice that is certain
Of my strength
My worthiness to be on this planet
When I am my own friend
I tell the world I love them
I have the space in my own planet I call : The Heart
To help everyone I come in contact of
For I am just like them
Grew up as all the orphans
Yearning for a place to belong
For I am just like them
Just like you
Even though, raised by parents
I was an orphan in my complexity
My uniqueness that society
Has so long told us was a difficulty
You are who you are
No matter where the wind takes us
Have the gut to swim against the current
Because although we are all the same
We are orphans
Who shall give ourselves compassion
Do me a favor
Be your own friend
You are a champion
Of love
Beauty
So much so the stars stop gleaming
The sunset cease to exists
Colors weep
The Earth dies in its sleep
For your heart is too big
Too beautiful to compete
Do me a favor
Be your own friend
Give yourself compassion
Just a little sweetness
Just a hint of kindness
