Reflection of Moments

Reflection of Moments

A Poem by LapseOfMind
"

Words depicting times. I won't say more than that.

"
I touched your skin, broken
and watched as you turned away
weren't we supposed to be Heaven?
my green eyes cast in matte grey
fingers tingle incisions
I'm lost in this maze
you pulled back your decisions
I attacked your famed gaze
uttered words bearing pitchforks
countered curse i create
to you I am nothing
to me I'm a game
so quick is your gamble
let loose volleys of chains
I am but poisoned
I am your slave.

Thank you Val, I really appreciate that!
I liked the honest and direct words. Took the reader to place of education and left them with powerful ending.
"I am but poisoned
I am your slave."
Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I did and you are welcome.
There is a lot going on in this short poem. Very deep and heartfelt. I found myself reading it over a few times trying to find that common theme that seemed to unravel the relationship, but it is hidden within a well woven writing. It makes me stop and think - and that kind of writing I enjoy. Well done.

Bittersweet, but surreal and intricate in the details.

I attacked your famed gaze
uttered words bearing pitchforks
countered curse I create -- loved these lines...so vivid and conceptual.

I find myself searching in this piece...looking for the thread that holds the whole thing together, and yet it is ellusive. I don't think that is a bad thing in this case, rather I think that is what makes this one so interesting. Creative and intuitive. Well done.

Thank you. Sad yes but only a fleeting moment, a single instance, so its OK lol
I think you expressed these emotioins so well. You talk about the break up and how hurt you were from it but the poison is there and your "slavery" you dedication your love to him is still there. That is the poison. I loved this great job!

Ow! If the object of poetry is to transmit emotion through carefully chosen words then indeed you have created poetry.
Very well done.
