Melancholy

Melancholy

A Poem by Laura Garcia

What I would give,

To feel your gentle lips caress mine,

And your smooth hands trace the outline of my body.

How I love the way your eyes are like darts and pin me as I walk across the room,

Just to make me realize how vulnerable I am and they urge me to run towards your safe arms.

Afternoons watching the sunset as both our hearts beat the same song,

And watching the birds fly away together,

Hoping that can be us.

Conveys a sense of longing though ambiguous as to if it is a lost love, a hopefull connection etc...
