Garden Party

Garden Party

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Rejoicing in the time of the end of Hitle's reign. Written for 10/40 poetry contest. Using these words:perfume splendid presence oblivion purer glass sky serene two merciful

"

 Jasmines' aromatic perfume

Through splendid gardens

Hushed conversions created  presence

Outside matters thrust into oblivion

No purer night

Friends raised their glass toasting sky

Serene promises made that garden of lasting friendships

Two  jasmines watched

Life finally merciful to all

I dig the subject and the presentation, it's a cool idea.
The writing itself is very righteous, but seemed a little vague (but that could easily just be me).
It was cool though, thumbs up.

Laura, you did a wonderful job with this challenge. Your images of post-Hitler Germany, the happiness expressed in a clinking of toasting glasses, the scent of jasmine! You write very well!!

What a beautiful poem - being able to do a simple act of enjoying the night air with friends and celebration is something that we take for granted these days. but i can feel the sense of release here.

Thank you for sharing.
