Beautiful, Talented, Me

Don't you hate it when people are judgemental about your looks??

I am not a Barbie doll,

No one on earth can tame my hair,

I do not fear judgement at all,

But critics are never fair,

 

Because I don’t look like Angelina Jolie,

And I am not Brigitte Bardot,

But I’m beautiful, talented me,

And being me is all I know,

 

So why the heck do people judge

Before they truly see,

That the person that‘s inside,

Isn’t what they look to be

 

I am not a beauty queen,

But no one else can write like me,

 I think it’s time to intervene,

Please don’t judge by what you see,

 

Because I could never be Brittany Spears,

I don’t look like Taylor Swift,

But I know I can bring you to tears,

Poetry is my gift

 

So why the heck do people think

that you get just what you see?

I think us diamonds in the rough,

Deserve an apology!
