In Company Of Willows

In Company Of Willows

A Poem by Leesah

And I am left with tonight

without you

watching the flicker

of moons wink through trees

This night has waited

For  my gentle steps….

Certain that I am

Always welcomed here

eyes

I remember

Burning so…

They could always

Light my dark

Now,

its me with only

A few sparkles from the sky

As cold shine of eyes

Kind quiet wraps me

With warm memory arms

And the willows,

companions in darkness

they wallow their sympathies

whispering

alone is

not so lonely

I really liked this poem. I was drawn to it first because of the title, which is beautiful. You capture the calm and kind quiet really well. I spend a lot of time walking on my own in the company of nature and I love trees so could relate to this too. Nice. NH

Such a beautiful imagery.

The last verse is particularly lovely, because it shows that we can never be ,,alone,, , because we have imagination.

I too was drawn by the title, but your artistry continued painting a lovely picture. The idea of being comforted by a willow -- or anything in nature for that matter -- is very appealing to me, and I rely on that reality quite frequently :-). You've crafted a beautiful intimacy here that touches a deep place in my heart. Thank you!

I love going for walks at night in the woods. Makes me miss my home city-I would go for a wander through Linford Wood at 3 in the morning!
Really beautiful and the feelings of calm and solitude really jump out. Excellent piece, Leesah (or is it Lisa?).
Gonna add this to my favs! :)

So sad but yet so serene.....awesome imagery in this piece, and it leaves the reader wondering what happened to the speaker's muse? A breakup, or worse?

Great poem!
