Remaining Dozen

Remaining Dozen

A Poem by Kayla Legit
"

It's a poem about my cousin. Not much else to it.

"
I don't remember much about the day,
It was so distant i don't even remember your name,
The doctors said no matter what happened you wouldn't feel pain.

They pulled the tubes that kept you breathing,
Although they said you couldn't.. you actually were screaming,
You were going to be my cousin until that day,
When your world had stopped and instead sorrow filled it's ways.

You would have had a sister,
&possibly a brother who is my cousin
He is a week younger than my brother& he doesn't,
Have the exact things we do but no matter what he's one of us,
The remaining dozen.
