A Poem by Lily Heywood
"

a poem about growing up and maturing out of your childhood, whilst reflecting on the path youve taken/been forced down.

"

They always say that apples don’t fall far from trees.
And that actually the apple is just a mirror image to what it’s going to be.

But what if on the day that it’s supposed to fall,
The weather itself, gets close and forestalls.
And that the wind that blows so gracefully on a typical day,
Takes an unexpected turn and blows the apple away.

You’d think the apple is now isolated and alone,
But what If it told you, it could now grow up and be its own.

For if it wasn’t for the wind on that day,
Then would the apple have rotted away?

there is so many different meanings to this poem.
about over bearing parents / one toxic parent and the other saving you.
the idea of being forced down a path / the idea of having expectations.
