Seen It

Seen It

A Poem by Alejandro Libaque

I haven't traveled around the world
yet I've seen a lot. Perhaps enough.
I've seen happy faces and hearts full of hope.
I've seen bleeding arms and helping hands.
I've seen sparkling eyes,
[sigh]
I've seen her eyes.

I've also seen crowns,

castles, swords and dragons.
I've seen mountains,
jungles, birds and golden fountains.
I've seen pools full of water
and waters full of matter.
I've seen boys cry,
[sigh]
I've seen them die.

I've seen full moons,
full glasses, half fools and fool dances.
I've seen towers, rivers, lakes, flowers.
I've seen culture.
I've seen parents.
I've seen liars being flattered,
loving lovers, hate and power.
I've seen tears.
I've seen fear.
I've seen brokenhearted peers.

There've been mirrors,

locked doors, open windows.
There've been walls.
There've been wolves.
And the angels.

Don't forget the angels

up in Heaven.

[sigh]

I miss Heaven.

About
In a mirror you see the reflection of your body, but the reflection of your life is only shown in what comes out of your lips, if you recite, and your hands, if you write. To write is to open a door o.. more..
