The game of life

The game of life

A Poem by likhnewala
"

how a cricket match mirrors life

"
They say life is a game
which one must play
But does it have a name
which one could say?

There are rules
and then there are regulations
But such are only fools
who believe in speculations

How must one participate
in this game of life
To open the gate
and stand on the knife

It lies in knowing
who you really are
And then bowing
to the Almighty's power

We think and make a plan
to later execute
And think we outran
to make a big loot

Uncertainties exist
and make us stronger
But what if they persist
and make us feel longer

It is such times where
we derive a power
which lies just there
where we are like a flower

After all its only a game
to be lost or won
And the secret lies in the gain
that comes after its done.

After all, we gained and maybe we passed
With our good deeds maybe committed a sin
But in the end I took part in this game,
Fair and square by the rules I played,
How can I answer the question, "Did I win?
And what mark will be given to my name?"

:) Its a great poem - I was a little inspired :)
Though life is occasionally compared to a game, when reading this it feels like a new idea. I had the image of Jurassic Park while reading. That was an awesome board game that traveled world boundaries. How do you feel about that idea?

Hi Arwa !
TY for your review :)

And yes..life can mean any game to us. You have compared it to the jurassic park board game whereas others might compare it to a more outdoor or rough game. It all depends on perceptions of the magic called life. Afterall, i think it is the perspective more than preparation which matters in life !

OH ya...gr8 follow up to the poem !! :)
