Do notA Poem by Lilaa
If you see me gazing
into the night sky, eyes completely withdrawn from the essence around me, do not try to pull me back If you notice engravings on my skin, do not sit there and talk to me about it, do not suggest I see a therapist. If you notice my body becoming one with itself, please do not touch me, do not hold me, do not beg for a simple short hug, because that simple hug, sends nothing but shock waves down my spine, delivers nothing but the aching feeling of my skin brushing up against another human, I cannot be held. If you notice my hips becoming wider, my stomach becoming thicker and my mouth becoming curbed, do not ask me for a response, do not try to convince me that my body matters, do not try to implement the idea of happiness into my blue soul, that train has long passed. Friend, I tell you Do not customise your feelings to match mine, do not send me your love letters, your worried letters, your happy letters, do not suggest we speak over the phone Most importantly, do not get upset with me, my actions are only limitations of the feelings I ply within, do not argue with me, As I am already arguing with myself, do not curse me, for I am cursing myself, friend I tell you, let a broken girl be broken, do not try to resurrect my battered soul, for no one will have the ability too. © 2016 LilaaReviews
