Wine Cork

Wine Cork

A Poem by Li'l Dumplin

Stout, round

puffy and taught

plugs things up: alot

remove slow, watch

shiny silver thing that looks like a man with funny arms go

up and up and up

with it's little screwy swirly sticky point and

grab it

flow

gulp, smile

Nice little ditty. ;) I enjoyed it. I might shorten the two longer lines, or just cut them in halves for the sake of flow. But that's all. I like this best:
"shiny silver thing that looks like a man with funny arms go

up and up and up"

Just me.
Captain Ugly.

You have a lot of simple humour in your writing. Don't take the "simple" as an insult - it's very good! With a few small words you manage to bring a very light-hearted feel to your writing. What I especially like is that you've taken something as insignificant as a wine cork and turned it into something very significant: this is what being a writer is all about. This feels like something that would be equally at home in an adult contemporary anthology or a children's book of poems. Lovely job =)

Haha, I like this, really nice. Short and simple. Like how you characterized the corkscrew. Also I enjoyed the instructions there.... Good job...

What an odd thing to write about, but a good write about it none-the-less. Kudos.
