Suicide Note

Suicide Note

A Poem by Faith

Sublime is the sensation of falling

The plummeting descent into despair

The once emotive and cathartic

Now dead and no longer cares

The climax was exhilarating

Liberating the senses and the soul

The injection of perfection

The exquisite loss of control

The sound, a horrible reverberation

The perfume of smoke and ash

A dilemma sufficed by simplicity

Numbing memories from a dismal past

The wine, a heady ambrosia

Sipped between painted lips

Desperation masked by elegance

Its a sweet potion to forget

Scarlet enunciations blossom

Despondent expressions of the oppressed

Pouring forth like poetry

Inspirations by discord and distress

The pills are the instrument

And the body is the band

When they coalesced together

Reality will finally understand

Winter's return was anticipated

A capsule of silver and white

A frigid embrace, promising freedom

A dreamer’s eternal respite

Daylight breathed it's last

Nightfall choked the streets

And somewhere, she is writing

A somber swansong of defeat:

"I'm sorry, I cannot do this anymore

It's over now, this horrible life

I will always love you

Please forgive me... Goodbye."

Delightfully flowing and elegant for a writing of this type. Far different from the usual descriptions of despair and self-harm - you bring a more technical, meticulous aspect to a rather crude act. Sometimes tho your steady flow is interrupted by more awkward rythms (''Pouring forth like poetry
Inspirations by discord and distress''). I think it might have flowed better with ''inspired'' rather than ''inspiration'', in fact I read it as inspired at first, and this required me to reread the paragraph again, slightly breaking the steady flow feeling.

You have an elegant rhythm and rhyme to this. The quietude adds to the sadness and futility of it all. This is well written but also disturbing.
