The Rains

The Rains

A Poem by SpiceCookie
"

It was a simple summer's day...

"
It was a simple summer's day
when the rains came,
and oh did they come,
pouring, soaking, drowning us all
not in water
but in acid.

Me, I was trapped in the sinking mud
on that first fateful day.
The wind did not blow;
it screamed and tore at my face.
And not even the ground could hold me,
for I was much
     too
heavy.
