Defiance

Defiance

A Poem by Libby

It was assumed
ear splitting screams
of course it couldn't
not a chance
no whim to be
and through the fugue
the fog, the haze
an amorous one
who changed the pace
things got quicker
I lapsed and smiled
I let it in
and proposed a trial
but more than that
we became an alliance
hand in hand
with my only defiance
