It's Never To Late

It's Never To Late

A Poem by Lilmissfit

In that moment i knew
Every passing minute
Every thought that lingered in my mind
Would never be forgotten

Even in the last moment of your life
You gave me everything
In every touch
In every tear
Your love caressed my anguish struck heart
As if to offer comfort

As i listen to the beat of your heart
That got weaker with each passing second
I took your blood soaked body into the cradle Of my arms

You were myn once
You were the light that made my world shine
Your laugh was my favorite song

Your whispered words played
Over and over again in my mind
Like a broken record

Your love is my immortality
Forever i will follow you
Where ever you go
I want you to know

In your thoughts I will listen
In your heart I will beat
Just Think of me
Always Remeber me

Forever my darling
Love me...

The loss of a friend is hard to take. This seems as though it isn't a human friend though. Like you came home one day and found your beloved pet struck by a car or crumpled and hurt in a different way. The line: "I took your blood soaked body into the cradle of my arms" Then: "You were myn once". Even though the next stanzas sound as though it is a person..laughing and whispers can come from a pet too. My dog constantly moans and groans along with sighs. He talks too...literally like he is having a convo with me but more garbled. A child looks to their pet as their other half or the besty they love above all others. They have bonds that just don't make sense when you become an adult..but then you don't look at anything the same then. This was another very nice piece..like you just sat down at your desk and let each thought become a stanza and then just let them connect themselves. (could be wrong on the concept here)...but again that's a feeling you bring out through words...they are all exceptional pieces. :)

That was beautiful I felt all you said . I understand the loss of what was and is no more. The great thing of all is memory no1 can take that and you formed a beauty in writing:)

Wow! So much open to interpretation, it was heart wrenching but not to the point I wanted to stop reading. You are a brilliant writer, can't wait to read more:)

Very heartbreaking. Very well written, I enjoyed not enjoying reading it, if you get what I mean. Thank you for sharing, loss is always hard to deal with, easier over time, but never easy.

oh my... its like love lost, yet not quite. this... poem, it stirs up this soft yearning... i have never in my 18 years of life even fooled myself that i had been remotely in love, but your writing make me kinda want to :).

I really like this - very tender, sweet and sad. It encompasses all the feelings and things we go through as we lose someone dear to us.

My wife died almost a year ago. This poem brought back bittersweet yet ultimately good memories of our last days together. Thank you.
