Pentecost :: Vice

Inspired by a corny (but beautiful) Bjork song. Perhaps the poem is corny, or cliche as well.

It’s one of my vices to look

Into your eyes; my heart

Erupts in my chest, screams

Red and blue, blood like lava

 

Flowing to my fingers and cheeks.

It’s that vice that hurts which crowns

My heart with a flame, Pentecostal

Pleasures too mysterious for the tongue;

 

Yet the tongue holds its joyous mysteries.

"it's one OF my vices to look"? I think u missed the prep...and it's not cheezy - ok, maybe a little lol it's no but really, it's just not depressing like ur usual self;) screams red and blue gave it an ice-cream, or those cherry-berry ice cone, feel and a more playful tone. However, then u switch to Lava and Pentecostal, and it becomes heavy again, and strangely sensual with the tongue...it's kinda all over the place, which is a bit refreshing from you because you usually tend to stick to a theme like a fundamentalist to the scriptures...did you get bitten by a snake or something? lol love the last three lines, but the heart flame thing is more of a catholic not pentecostal image
