A Poem by Linear
"

The world is blessed Nature is best

"
The sun was on the rise
Moon had just declined
Fresh the earth was this day

Green and golden hills bask in the early sun
New born lambs prance about
To their mothers delight

Hedge sparrows chirp a course hello
As black bird sings it's melody
All at once the air is filled with song

Dandylion, burdock, hemlock too
Primrose and buttercups overflow
Fragrances to savour, it all seems new

Woodfires are burning
Children chattering
Mothers a baking

Fathers off to work the land
With a flask and a crust
A smile on their face

Warm sun above
Thatched cottage roofs
Washing clothes fluttering on the line

Rolling hills
On sunny days
Horses graising in lower field

Rivers, streams and brooks
In hazy sun do shimmer
Contentment
All is well with the world this day

The journey this one take me on reminds me of a different time in a different place. It flows very well and each line held my attention adding to the feel and the story line of this piece. The descriptions of the flowers stand out in my mind for I love gardening and being surround by different smells and plants. I can almost smell the wood fires burning which is actually a smell that I rather enjoy for it reminds me of great times camping or bonfires with friends.

What a beautiful and simple life you describe
One in which families remained tight knit for survival

From start to finish, this poem is packed with lovely and striking imagery. I can't even choose one stanza above another as my favourite - the poem as a whole is lovely - beautifully written and serene. I want to be walking in this place now! :)

WOW! This was beautiful! It took me through a place of such peace and serenity.
If I close my eyes, I can see myself floating within your words and being there. Held a dream-like feel to it too. I really enjoyed this one, and that picture at the end well let me just say it was sheer perfection for the piece..

LOVED IT!!!
