under the shadows of mistakes

under the shadows of mistakes

A Story by Jane Korunoski
"

I have days like this. WHen i feel like everything is falling under mu feet.

"
I don't want to live losing another day under the shadows of the mistakes I've done, because I feel like I'm falling down, not rising to the top.Everybody wonders but noone asks, it's hard for them to see the pain behind my masks. Maybe they're afraid from the burden of the secret storm. I often ask myself, what if the sorrow could build stairs to the heaven, or what if the stars were  the nearest doors to success... What can I say...Maybe that's possible somehow in  my dreams. The worst thing of all is  when you feel like you've dissipated all of the sun's light and your whole life just to light up some small lit match, and you  failed. I am tired of being tired everyday the same way. Why did I have to make a step on the road the leads to nowhere, while  persistently trying to reach the end, and there is no thing such as end? I am trying to get out, but I can't when the door is locked from the inside with infinite number of chains and pair of invisible locks. I am still sitting underneath the shadows of my mistakes, under the biggest darkest shadows, and I keep thinking why the old  oak mercilessly rejects it's leafs. I am tired and I don't know if  am going to fall asleep, on the edge of  the biggest hole, where the demons cry. Maybe i'll try to smile when I won't be able to say a word,  and i'll make a sigh that will sound like scream, but I will not care if I wake up someone, because I'm sure that nobody's gonna hear my cry.

Jane, this is a horrible way to feel. Many people have dark moments, some dark days and others their whole lives feel as if the shutters have never opened to peep at the bright sunshine awaiting outside. Be assured that there definitely is sunshine out there, waiting to be found. And when you find it, the demons will have no place in your thoughts. This is a heart-felt read. It's good to get thoughts down on paper, it can be therapeutic to share. But make sure you find that sunshine - it is most definitely there :-)

I can hear you crying, all these thousand of miles away. I really wish you would talk to someone. You shouldn't have to shoulder all this pain and anguish alone.

Hard to forgive yourself and allow pain and misery to fade away. I like the description and feel of struggle in the poem. Easy to make mistakes. Hard to regain strength not to be afraid again. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

I love this and can totally relate. I have actually written something very similar to this. You just have to find your way from the shadows to the light....
