creeping darkness

About the darkness surrounding us

Creeping darkness
Surrounded by darkness
trying to keep the light
the light flickering
the darkness creeping up
getting ever so closer not given up
shadows gathering in the light
trying to get closer
desperatley trying to take the light

shadow hands reaching for me

never sucedding but always trying
worrying one day the darkness will win
despeartley hoping the light will stay

sometimes our lives seem to be just staying one step ahead of the darkness...it's like it tries to find us, overwhelm us and get us to succumb to it...all we can do is seek the light and stay strong...

life does get better if we give it a chance to.

quite the battle though.

hi lisa, welcome to the cafe. i hope you enjoy your time here. i'm not going to comment much on your writing other than to encourage you to keep working at it. find different ways of saying the same things. that uniqueness is what makes good poetry. my one serious suggestion to you is to learn to use a spell checker when you write. spelling isn't all of our strong points, but there's no reason not to use a checker. spelling is a part of writing and you have to learn it. we all make mistakes, but try to keep them to a minimum. keep writing. enjoy the cafe.

Hi thank u for ur reply. Sorry u were disapointed with this poem. Didn't realise their were spelling mistakes spell checker obviously didn't work. Will try to improve.
