You Can't

You Can't

A Poem by Juliet Ray
"

What we're told.

"
Two years old
In a light pink tutu
Always told,
"Do all you want to do"

So she grew
Never backed down
Tried all she wanted to
Never wore a frown

Left that town
Needed better
But realized the world wouldn't let her

Twenty years old
Ballet slippers in hand
Found out the world was cold
Could barely even stand
