For You, Joe

For You, Joe

A Poem by TheNewerLisa

Tale of a broken relationship and a broken heart

This is for you Joe,
My mafia don,
My Svengali man
My forever love
My flash in the pan
Through time I traipse,
but time can’t erase
The fact that you’re in my bones
And how can it be
When I look at me
That I still see you…as home?

So here we are Joe,
My enigma man
My heart upside down
My forever love
My torn ballroom gown
And when the phone rings
The sound it makes stings
Still calling me in my home
So how can it be
When I look at me
That I still see you…
but I’m alone.
