Pictures, Math, Life and Numbers

Pictures, Math, Life and Numbers

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

(math is)
Numbers are just ways
Of talking
About shapes without
Words

-seeing space without pictures-

And words are just things
We use to talk about pictures
Made with our eyes
Understood with our minds

-transcribed via math-

Through a fleshy computer
   without even knowing
   how to do math

things cross our paths
life unfolds relentless

And sounds are the ways
We use to make noises
Mean things called 'important'

in a moment
of a time
that there happens to be people in

into words
into thoughts
into feelings

intuition

We see what we see
  beyond us
  inside
Outside
    Into a World
     A situation
That doesn't understand us

That we're more than, mathematics
    Unfolding
    if only just barely
For a lifetime
Of shapes
Without words
In a space
Without pictures
It is what it is
if only just barely
(life is)

I heard once, that numbers are the key to the universe and our world is built upon the principles of mathematics, therefore if one can understand numbers, one can understand the universe.
Interesting perspective on things.
Though, words don't just describe pictures and what we can see..

Loved the existing ideas throwing out it's own laudable foundations of truths to the elements of time how throughout time abstract point of the impossibility of grasping the actual world in the mind's net of words, concepts, and secondly loved the line " We see what we see beyond us inside Outside Into a World A situation That doesn't understand us." Combines the fact there is something that escapes both the comprehension of the philosopher and the grasp of the pleasure- seeker. Very thought provoking and Marcus Aurelius said once " You've seen that. Now look at this. Don't be disturbed. Uncomplicate yourself. Something happens to you. Good. It was meant for you by nature, woven into the pattern from the beginning. Life is short." That's all there is to say and keep writing sincerely your friend in poetry and life

I know I will never write about math as I couldn't pass college algebra. That fact damaged my college years and has made math and I enemies. But I understood we are more then mathematics unfolding. So without math I can still create with words.

I don't even know where to begin with this one. Nothing bad. But I'm just left dumbfounded.

I can see why I can't understand the world as i sucked at math. Could never really get a grasp on mathematics in areas like algebra and the like. Excellent observation.

i love how you deconstructed the human experience into something as straightforward as numbers. its a direct contrast to the complexity of our thoughts which is just a different kind of math. too bad i was never any good at that subject. haha

hmm, the ''world of numbers'' is a fascinating place to be...Funny, I recently watched a Vsauce video about the Banach-tarschi Paradox, and reading this made me think EXACTLY of it. Its interesting how a well defined thing can also be infinitely incomprehensible or rather out of reach at times (at least for me). It was nice stopping by ;)

I liked how it flew from math to life so smoothly. A good write.
