Sometimes I envy those who die young. Like you said, they'll never know old. It's saddest when children die, no matter the cause. I hate that we have to grow old. I wish we stopped aging at a certain age before the wrinkles, brown spots, lines, etc. But in reality, when I pass a cemetery and look out at all the markers I can't help but think, 'how lucky you are. You're not here to have to deal with the world today. You're done with all the worrying, all the pain, all the disappointment. I miss my Dad more than anything in the world but I wouldn't wish him back here now. He would be so disgusted with what our government has become and I'm sure I've done things that would disappoint him and that alone would kill me. Your poem is sad but a good 'thinker'.

The dead are lucky if they were ready in their hearts and mind. It all depends on what one believes. Personally, I hope there's nothing after death, no Heaven, no Hell, just death. I think fading away would be better than a burnout. Fading seems more pleasant and serene and still time to say goodbye. Just my thoughts. You seem, to me, to be a much more in-depth, constant mind-generating kind of person. I feel like you would be the one to 'burnout', not that I'm hoping that's your fate, just sayin'. Idk, maybe I'm just setting myself up for another harsh reaming-out by you and one of your friends. All-in-all, I liked your poem and where it took my thoughts.

You have to follow not only your heart and your mind but most importantly your gut. I'm not scared to die. We come in this life for a reason. I believe it's to make a mark on the people we come across. And I don't believe in coincidence. You'll never really die if you write, anyways.
When we awake from a dramatic dream, didn't the dream seem real? What if we were to wake and find that the entire life, we thought we lived had been a dream?
You have some very interesting, thought provoking ideas.
Take care - Dave
All things being relative, I'm willing to wager our lifespans and experiences would be the subject of a pretty depressing poem on some rock circling a distant star.

Are we, as a civilization/technologicaly advanced society, just children in the grand scheme of things? Or are we babies? Or the truly terrifying option to me... are we the grown ups in the room? In this universe are we as advanced as things anywhere have yet to get so far? That is the thought that really depresses me.
perhaps they are the lucky ones
who will never will never know
old the aging process of pains
and aches a nd mental burn out
but then life is precious
and some will cling to it with all
they got..maybe we should all
go at 30 like the movie Logan's Run
your write is interesting Dave;
much to ponder
nice. work

Thank you Fran. This poem kinda creeps me out though.
