Fire Love

Fire Love

A Poem by littlekinglord
"

Please let me know if it needs work

"

We burn down the walls of religion

The walls of indecision

Do I have your attention

No brakes, had a collision

Had a dream, say a vision

That suspended this reality

Throw it in the flames

The things this world is sending me

It’s like somebody poured gasoline on my Soul

Threw a lit match

Warning their Flammable

Pull the alarm

Here comes the sirens

Better believe that we got that fire

I fall for you again

every time just like the first time

I love the way you draw me back

 your love wins me over

I fall

 I fall for you.

You face is like the sunshine

During my darkest days

When I'm feeling worried

I think of what you’d say

And all I wanna do

Is hold you tight

And Never let you go

I fall for you again

every time just like the first time

I love the way you draw me back

your love wins me over

I fall

I fall for you.

I hope you never let go oh

I fell for you before

And I know

I’m in pieces

A shipwreck

In the wake of hurricane

But I know oh Yeah

I fall for you again

every time just like the first time

I love the way you draw me back

your love wins me over

I fall

I fall for you.

nothing to hate LKL.
Since I posted on your poem the other night, I thought to drop by again. I've been looking over your work, getting a sense of what and who you are. There is substance and some style to your work, some better than average imagery for one so young. But, if you sense a but, here's the thing: in order to grow as a poet one needs to step outside of the 1st person urge to confess. Many of your poems present a solid sense of pacing, what they lack is an understanding of the world in which they inhabit.
Might I suggest, as an exercise, to see what I am getting at, chose one of your poems and reverse it, write it wrong the other persons point of view. If you do, and you avoid the trap of simply assuming the "I" persona of someone else "who just happens to feel like you do" I think you will be quite surprised on how it opens up your senses and your range of options.
