Perception

A perception of earth and yes another poem of thoughts

Darkness sorrounds earth

Standing between heaven and hell

our deepest desires are

What decision to make?

As light penetrates earth in minutes

Darkness swallows light in seconds

What to do?

If we can't take a single step forward

When temptions comes to our soul

As if the greatest liders of the world

Take people as their light 

But when they have the power

They see you as anyone else in earth

Memories from the past come to the present

Memories from the present go the past

In a cycle where those memories don't move forward

Do bad memories make you feel bad?

Or are you the one who manipulates them to make you feel bad?

The fire has been the light for our human race

The water is hope for us

These two can't be combine

But we combine them in our mind

To make something out of them

Because they are vital for our existence

Stars are like humans

They shine through the cosmos

With the only difference that

We chose if we want to shine or not

A perception of an objective life is easy

A perception of an emotional life is hard

Takes you through a roller coaster of thoughts

Every day and night

But our mind

Our mind is dynamic and constantly changing

We're not thinking the same thougths that we used to a long time ago

So if our mind is in constant change

Do we really know what we want?

Some interesting thoughts and questions. I agree we are always evolving and changes with every experience, our impressions and perceptions are all colliding together and we make a judgement, but life is challenging and we try to use our best judgement and learn from our mistakes. Thank you. Dale

especially the stanza in which you ask questions!
Interesting and amazing poetry! And the comparisons you have made about fire being light and water being hope... and us being stars lost in the cosmos! Beautiful! I loved it...

This piece was absolutely breathtaking. Interesting, different, and surreal all at once. Definitely thought- provoking as well. One thing that stood out to me, was the structure and organization of the stanzas. I see you have a pattern going on here. You have a way with words, Lizardo. I also appreciate the many emotions behind these words. Makes the piece more deep than it already is. My question is, how long did it take you to compose this?

you ask a lot of deep questions that a lot of us have thought to ourselves at one time or another.. while you can feel the emotion poured into this piece it is definitely intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking.. while we have certainly evolved, some things never change.. or has it changed and just reverted back?.. or is it in a cycle of sorts?.. who really knows right?... is life the journey of finding answers or the stuff that happens in the meantime... nicely done..

we know we need light and hope..we know objective life is easy but emotional is not so much...
and our mind is constantly fighting within itself to do what we think is not only right for us, but right in general. change is not only good, but necessary.
