My Sufficiency

My Sufficiency

A Poem by Lizzie Mitchell

If you tell me that I'm safe, then I'm safe
If you say that I won't fall, then I won't fall
I have everything I have through your grace
I am righteous and redeemed
So I can look boldly in your face
And in your face I see
Everything I need
I see your love
I see why you set me free
I see your strength
I see my sufficiency
I see the reflection of what you placed in me
And when I'm struggling to remember who I am
You remind me
So when I'm scared I'll run to you
When I'm lost I'll follow you
When darkness tries to enter it will flee
From the light you placed in me
