shadow of loss

My life is this,
I have a family,
I love so much,
For the time being,
Everything is fine,
But then a dark shadow,
Arises with fear,
Death and fear starts to take,
First it brought on cancer,
Then it brought on death,
Death of my mother,
The shadow touched her soul,
And took her from those who cared,
Then it waited,
Stood still,
As time passed,
The shadow was frozen in place,
Then it came out,
Unfroze itself,
And took another,
Took my father,
Touched his soul,
And dragged him away.
With a brother locked away in a cage,
I feel all alone,
This is my life of loss,
The shadow of loss,
Is waiting,
Selecting its next victim,
Its next prey,
Thats the shadow of loss.
