Trust

Trust

A Poem by Joy
"

A letter for my future.

"

My love,

I need you to know something,

Something about me.

This something comes like a storm,

Covers me,

Consumes me,

Kills me,

But I need you to know.

I need you to know that I can trust.

It is possible.

Trust is my storm.

It may be predicted,

Or it may just turn up.

My trust comes in waves.

The calm before the storm.

The rage of the winds,

Destroying everything in it’s path.

The thundering storm that drowns out all noise,

All light,

All life.

And then the calm after the storm,

Only there to tell you that you survived this one,

But there will be plenty more.

My trust comes and goes.

You may have to chase it,

But let me tell you,

It’s hard to find,

To catch,

To subdue.

There will come a time where I won't trust you.

Where I will try and run,

I will scream,

I will try and hid.

But this,

This is where you come in.

This is where I will trust you most.

I need you to let me run,

Let me scream,

Let me hid,

But I need to trust that you will be right there with me,

Running side by side,

Racing me,

Not letting me reach my finish line too soon,

Letting me know that i’m not alone.

Trust is hard,

But I trust that you will ride out the storm with me.

I trust you.

Cool poem. I like the way you used a storm as a constant yet changing symbol throughout the whole poem. That was awesome.

A beautifully pinned love letter. I like you give trust a visual image. The stanzas look like waves.
