But lately I've been a bit depraved 

Taco bell has something new

That drips with cheese and some weird goo

And I just heard that Burger King 

Has slashed its prices on union rings

McDonald's has chosen not be out done

By adding new toys in their boxes of fun

But despite these improvements I must confess 

I'd rather eat fake Chinese food at Panda Express

Did you hear Walmart had a sale on Preparation H

Two for a dollar what an incredible rate!

Also 4 boxes of Massengill for 2 bucks; I must say

Too great a deal to pass; despite not having a vajayjay.

Welcome to the world of commercial success 

I know all the jingles to make you depressed 

So let us laugh and sing as the world burns down 

As corporations numb us with their dancing greedy clowns

Thank you kindly for your thoughts on this poem. Out of an hour of say an episode of a series on TV almost 20 to 15 minutes of it is commercial time. We are literally bombarded and manipulated by ads on a daily basis. Even on the internet a web page can have several advertisements on it each tailored by your specific searches due to cookies and an algorithm some corporation created to track your searching habits. It's just insidious and vile what large companies get away with quite honestly.

Thank you Dylan. Humor and satire has more influence than anger and hatred. Especially during these days because essentially everyone is angry already. Humor is not easy though as a writer. It's actually difficult to write because what is funny to one is offensive to others. Despite parody and humor being at its best when unfiltered. I try to have an eclectic style of writing because of its challenges. It makes one a better writer when they work out of their comfort zone. As a fan of such social commentary humorists like Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and others of their ilk I'm drawn to their wit in illuminating the worst of human vice with disarming humor. I'm not by nature a funny person, or even have a decent sense of humor. As a matter of fact I'm currently working on a very short story about a teenage witch that is a parody of the genre. I'm laughing at a lot of the content but I'm also cringing a lot by it. I feel I'm on a tightrope thousands of miles in the air. And I'm enjoying the fun process of creating this tale but damn if I'm not a bit worried offending too many. But sometimes you just got to take a chance and write what makes you happy. Thank you again for your thoughts.

Thank you JP for the kind words. The sad things is that maybe a fraction of these people may had begun with noble intentions but in the end were driven by the greed of the corporate machine. They really don't care if their products kill us or drive us crazy. As long as they can make billions off us that is all that matters. Money buys power and influential political might. They literally write the rules for themselves. Keeps us ignorant and numb with their alluring commercial jingles while they rob us blind and make us addicted to their products. This is very dangerous to our democracy and the ideas of freedom many falsely believe that they have. Thank you again my friend.
